Who is the Spanish Self Storage Association?
The AESS (Asociación Española de Self Storage) is the association that represents the self storage sector in Spain. Its members actively participate in the self storage industry across the country, encompassing both large operators with multiple facilities and smaller companies or independent operators.
As of November 2024, the AESS includes 70 operators managing 389 self storage centers in operation, along with 7 provisional members currently in the pre-opening stage. This number continues to grow, reflecting the steady interest and expansion of the self storage industry in Spain. The AESS plays a crucial role by offering information and guidance to potential operators interested in entering the market.
The association also organizes a congress and trade conference for suppliers with the primary goal of further strengthening and enhancing the self storage sector in Spain. The content of the conferences is tailored to the current landscape in the country, providing members with opportunities to acquire insights and strategies to improve their business outcomes. Additionally, simultaneous translation into English will be available, and renowned speakers will contribute to enriching the experience for attendees.

The Hotel Puerta de América
The Hotel Puerta de América in Madrid served as the venue for the 16th AESS Self Storage Conference and Trade Show, earning high praise from all attendees. Based on its success, we are excited to host the event once again in this exceptional location.

Each floor reflects the unique vision of one architect, with John Pawson having designed the floor where the Congress and Trade Showwill take place.

All the Details about the 17th AESS Self Storage Conference and Trade Show
The conferences will take place on the Ground Floor of the Hotel Puerta de América. The supplier conference will be held in the room immediately adjacent to the conference area. For this purpose, we have rented for 2 days a space of approximately 570 m² with a height of 3.70 meters for the conference, and another space of 380 m² for the conferences.
Buses for the site visits will depart from the main entrance of the Hotel Puerta de América at 3:00 PM on March 12th.
The networking cocktail dinner will feature a very special award ceremony this year, with winners in 3 categories, presented by the PLATINUM sponsors.
The 3 award categories, specifically designed to reflect the current situation of the sector in Spain, are:

– Innovation Award
Note: The 2025 Self Storage networking cocktail dinner and awards ceremony will not require formal attire; the dress code will be Smart Casual. After the dinner, we will enjoy a drink at the same restaurant.

All the Details about the 17th AESS Suppliers Conference
Bump-in for the Trade Show will commence at 8.00 am on Wednesday, 12 March. Starting at 2:00 PM, suppliers will be allowed access, with prior notice, to finalize the details of their stands.
Suppliers requiring an additional internet connection point at their stands (not included in the stand price) must request it when booking their stand.
When will the Trade Show open and close?
The Trade Show will open on Thursday March 13 at 8 AM, providing the opportunity to showcase your products and services. The Trade Show will remain open until 6:00 PM. Bump-out of the Trade Show for all exhibitors will be from 6PM on the afternoon of Thursday, 13 March. Please note that bump-out must be completed byno later than 8 PM.
Following the round table, attendees will leave the conference through an alternate door, enabling suppliers to discreetly begin dismantling their stands after the afternoon coffee break. Under no circumstances will dismantling be allowed prior to that time.
If you need to leave before 6 PM due to flight schedules, please inform the organizers to coordinate the dismantling of your stand. All supplier materials must be cleared from the room by 8 PM to ensure the booths are dismantled on time and in accordance with the hotel’s schedule.
What are the Awards and Who Can Qualify?
This year, the networking dinner will take place at a new location and will once again be organized as a walking dinner. The event will be hosted at SEEDS restaurant, conveniently located just a short bus ride from the conference venue.
The evening will provide an excellent opportunity to exchange experiences and cultivate new connections with industry peers—relationships that often lead to valuable business and growth opportunities. The highlight of the night will be the awards ceremony, recognizing the outstanding quality and commitment of the self storage industry in Spain.
Hotel Room Reservations
We have reserved 90 rooms for the conference at a special rate. So book your stay as soon as possible. The conferences and the Trade Show will be held at this hotel, and buses will depart directly from the hotel for the visits to the facilities and for the AESS 2025 networking dinner and awards ceremony.
The dinner will take place just a few minutes from the hotel by bus, in a stately house located in the center of Madrid, which is featured in the Michelin Guide.

The organization is not responsible for any expenses incurred by providers who purchase an operator ticket and have already booked flights or hotels.

- 2.50m high walls with anodized matte aluminum frame and white laminated filling

Cancellations of sponsorships and/or exhibitors are subject to the following conditions:

- Cancellations from February 1 onwards – no refund
